Knowing the signs and symptoms of breast cancer may help save your life. When the disease is discovered early, you have more treatment options and a better chance for long-term recovery.
Most breast lumps aren't cancerous. Yet the most common sign of breast cancer for both men and women is a lump or thickening in the breast. Often, the lump is painless. Other signs of breast cancer include:
1. A spontaneous clear or bloody discharge from your nipple
2. Retraction or indentation of your nipple
3. A change in the size or contours of your breast
4. Any flattening or indentation of the skin over your breast
5. Redness or pitting of the skin over your breast, like the skin of an orange
In most cases no one right treatment exists for breast cancer. Instead, you'll want to find the approach that's best for you.
To do that, you'll need to consider many different factors, including the type and stage of your cancer, your age, risk factors, where you are in your life, the size and shape of your breasts, and your feelings about your body.
Before making any decisions, learn as much as you can about the many treatment options that exist. Talk extensively with your health care team. Consider a second opinion from a breast specialist in a breast center or clinic. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Talking to other women who have faced the same decision also may help. This may be the most important decision you ever make.
Treatments exist for every type and stage of breast cancer. Most women will have surgery and an additional (adjuvant) therapy such as radiation, chemotherapy or hormone therapy. And several experimental treatments are now offered on a limited basis or are being studied in clinical trials.
Surgery
At one time, the only type of breast cancer surgery was radical mastectomy, which removed the entire breast, along with chest muscles beneath the breast and all the lymph nodes under the arm. Today, this operation is rarely performed. Instead, the majority of women are candidates for breast-saving operations, such as lumpectomy. Less radical mastectomies and mastectomy with reconstruction are also options.

Hi - I think you have aggravated the nipple yourself, with all the prodding and poking. Nipples are covered in Montgomery Tubercles, which lubricate the nipple. I think you've probably infected one of those. You mention the nipple is an odd shape compared to the other one, and you have a tiny lump that keeps re-appearing. These details are more than enough reason to get to your Doctor quickly. Breast cancers can appear at any age, and in either sex. The more 'research' you do, the more paranoid you will become. ONLY your Doctor can settle this once and for all. Don't die from 'stubborn-ness'. Good luck.

Since you have fibrocystic breast disease, I am sure you have gone for certain treatments and regular check-ups. The doctor is the best person to answer your queries.
Even if the check-up appointment date is not due and you see changes which you are not comfortable about, the wise thing to do is to pick up the phone and make another more immediate appointment. Even if it turns out to be nothing serious, the doctor's visit will ease your anxieties and improve the quality of your life.

Not necessarily, but I'd get into see the doctor asap. What you are describing can certainly be a sign of breast cancer and you don't want to take any chances. Have you any pain or swelling? Nipple discharge? Breast cancer in patients with fibrocystic breasts often goes undiagnosed because they believe that its just a benign cyst. Please see your doctor immediately to rule this out and get some peace of mind!

Self breast examination is the foremost thing to be done ( how to do you see in the net) after wards if you are not happy then go to a gynocologist who will examine you and a mamogram would be taken and this would confirm the problem you have. Mamogram is a test which can detect breast cancer very early even 2 years before its growth.
