Okay so i like this guy a lot, i mean he fits all the qualaties in someone that i have always wanted, and turns out he likes me too, but when i decided to step up and ask him out he said he liked me but he wanted to take things slowly. Is that just an excuse that guys use if they dont want to be in a relationship or do you think i have a good chance here?

I think you have to take it at face value and not read anything more into it.

Its a "maybe". But personally I don't think a good enough maybe. I mean whats so "serious" or "fast" about going out and spending time together.

Just take it easy and be his friend, check out other guys, if he knows you are going on a date there is nothing more likely to get him to make a move.

Theres nothing you can do about this lameness. Is he a hippie or something? Maybe his crystal collection has told him its not time yet. But its not exactly passionate towards you. Is that good enough for you?

I don't understand it at all

1. He could want a serious relationship and doesn't want to mess it up.
2. He still has other loose ends to tie up first.
3. He thinks it will make you want to jump in bed even faster.
I know that #3 is a little crude, but many guys have actually tried that one.
