It somewhat depends on the man. Most men feel the need to provide. This is the way God made them because He knew that for the first several hundred years women wouldn't be working. Now that women are working I think men are becoming more ok with the idea but its still a little hard to deal with. In a relationship I think a woman who made more than her man would need to reasure him in other ways that she needs him. Making the money is one way men always felt needed. That was their major contribution. I think thats why men sometimes seem to be jealous. I don't think its really jealousy I think its just the way they are made kicking in and thinking they aren't doing their job.

This is really funny becuase my husband and I were just talking about this! I am a stay at home mom but my husband says that if I can find a job that pays $30 an hour like he does, he will stay at home with the kids and let me work, My husband is a fed ex driver. MY DAD on the other hand is in a constant battle with his wife, my step mom over who makes more money. They have a really screwed up relationship. They have seperate bank accounts, and they keep all their money to themselfs. My dad will not say how much he makes but my step mom will openly say she makes more than he does and is willing to take out a pay stub. My dad gets very mad when she says she makes more than him, he totally freeks out! I honestly dont care who made more money, as long as the bills get paid and my kids have nice clothes to wear

Not me. If a woman likes a man who makes less. She's a genuine woman looking for companionship and not a gold digger looking to marry a millionaire.
Women are free to make their own money. This is what the western femenist woman has wanted. To be treated equally. Now, it's supposed to be like that. So,we're living in the kind of world that women have dreamed of.
But, If my girlfriend or wife made more money.I would not want her money at all or any gifts except for flowers on a special occasion. I wouldn't want her to buy me something I couldn't afford to get myself.

Some men are affected because of society---man is supposed to be the provider---it seems as if they feel like a failure---not jealous--just inadequate over something silly. Others have no problem at all---because they are mature and secure in themselves

Not me. Not at all. I say the more money the better no matter who is bringing it in. When you care about someone you celebrate their accomplishments along with them. Don't assume all men are like your ex.

a woman won't respect a man if she makes more $$ than he does. she will get uppity and claim she doesn't need him and become very demanding and will start trying to get him to be her servant and she will hold it over his head and generally make his life intolerable. it's too bad for women because the more money they make the fewer prospects they have, but they think that making more $$ means more power for them and they are consumed by it.

No. Not all men... I'm a guy who likes my woman to make more money than me. She can afford herself more and ease off my shoulder.
