Let us hope not.
A war with N. Korea may not cost the US too many losses but it would be quite a few.
It would not be an easy war to win especially as the United States would have to invade in order to win.
N. Korea, and too some extent Iran has what is known as all out war as its only strong point; to them warfare has but one conclusion all or nothing.
This is not the type of enemy the US ants to tangle with. We like our conquest to be dumb and dumber in tactics and have, like Grenada and its 50 Cuban construciton workers as a defending force, an easy victory?
N. Korea will go all out if attacked. No surgical strikes would end Koreas' retaliation and they are well equipped for a ground war or even withstanding a nuke bombardment by US.
No lies about them spreading flowers in our path as we advance into country would do.
N. Korea is still in the Dynasty mode and as quaint as that may sound it means its people are damn loyal and ready to defend country.
They may have the best and toughest Special forces on earth.
A couple of years ago a N. Korean sub ran aground n south Korea. some of the crew killed themsleves but five special forces took of walking towards the north.
After 30 days and over 30 dead and wounded of the S. Koreans and US best Special forces who were after them two made it back into the north.
Its airforce though antiquated is based in caves and would be able to engage any US craft within a two minute time frame at most. Usaed more like a missle than a plane launched and immediate firing. No playing victor Von Richtofen scarves flying and saluting each other or launching missles from miles away. Launch and fire, right now.

No we won't. and The nukes are an old issue so what if they have 1 2 or even 5 if they use one it would be there last, Our Allies like Japan would stop them and if they didn't do it we would finish them off or at least bomb them back to the stone age. However lets assume they have a nuke they do not ave a launch vechciles yet by the time they do our space defense will be operational if it isn't already and if they launch the would start a greater war that they could not answer, as for our economy if it were pushed to the third world war it would crash but so would everyone Else's no matter how hard they try to push us down the US would still be on top. That's why some people hate us.

North Korea is crazy. If a war starts it will be NORTH KOREA starting it not the US.
Even if the north koreans do use their nukes, they cant get them to the USA and they would use them on either Japan or South Korea out of spite.
Like the Iraqi Army the North Korean army is a paper tiger and would be crushed by the more modern army of South Korea and the US. However they North Koreans are close enough to throw a lot of bombs and missles into South Korea and they will kill thousands of civilians, but even with nukes probably not millions. The nukes that they tested were tiny, and all evidence points to the fact that they have few of them.
The economy of Japan and South Korea would suffer, but the US economy would be hardly damaged. It is unlikely that North Korea would last a month against the combined forces of US, Japan and South Korea.
It is highly likely if a war starts that Japan would get involved.
The army of North Korea has similar quality and numbers to Saddams army before the first Gulf war. They are not even close to being in our league.

We definitely should have gone after Kim in 2003 when we were inventing all the **** against Saddam. Here's why:
A - He REALLY WAS working on nukes
B - The "smoking gun" was an underground nuke test that the Russians verified before we even did
B - We're still technically at war with North Korea
C - Regime change would have worked
D - Koreans wouldn't start slaughtering each other afterwards, they would probably just rejoin South Korea
E - Chinese are business commies, and South Korea could easily make them more money then the ************ North
F - Kim wants oil..... Ahminejad wants nukes..... do the math
If US and Japan were smart they'd make a backdoor deal with China and launch some shock and awe on that fascist piece of sh!t Kim Jong. His people are living in worse conditions than the Afghanis under the Taliban and 11% of their whole country is a gulag. 6-party talks are like beating our heads against a brick wall hoping the wall will break first.

I do not think so. Far East is a sensitive political region. There are so many powerful nations in the region, such as the PR China, Japan, and Russia. I think the government of the US does not want to open this Pandora's box. And also the region is an important economic region in the world. The war on the DPR Korea could trigger global economic crisis. If the war happen, I think the US government choose a wrong place, wrong time, launch a wrong war against a wrong enemy.

There's zero chance the US will attack NorKor pre-emptively. Two reasons, our forces are stretched too thin, what with Iraq and possible confrontation with IRan, 2.possible escalation of the war into a confrontation with China, this will keep us in check for a long time. That was the reason Truman gave Gen. Marshall the boot back in the 50's when he wanted to bring the nukes out of the bullpen. Truman didn't want a nuclear war with China.
The only scenario of a war on the penninsula is NorKor's agression south of the 38th Parallel.

A war with N Korae is not likely, and would be a HUGE mistake. The main factor that causes much of the world to hate our nation is our interferance in the governance of other nations. We are already way over extended with Iraq, Iran afganistan and others.
China is a rising power that we do not need as an enemy, and stepping into their backyard enforcing our ideals of what is wrong and right would be a massive insult to them.
In addition, N Korea is not a real through to us anyway. They know that their arsonal's size and capabilites next to ours is non-existant. If they started a nuclear war, even if they managed to hit us with one... we'd hit them with ten and their whole country would be ash. It would never happen, so if they are not a threat, then we should keep our noses out of it.

Although, America and North Korea has a standing cease fire, the ball is in North Korea's hand. Before any advances can be made, a period of reconciliation had been put in place. The North Koreans ability to stay honest, will highly depend on this in the international community. It will involve more then the US attacking North Korea, and that is where we will see where China stands.

If North Korea do not stop its nuclear arms build-up, the US might declare war against it. Presently, North Korea made a concession for supply of energy in giving in to the pressure from the international community.

The six nation talks might prevent it. Who knows if N. Korea will live up to their end of the bargain. FYI.... We only have a ceasefire with N. Korea. The war has never really ended.
