You could choose to believe in the hate filled tenets of Nazism. I could choose to kick the crap out of you for doing so. Can't say if either one of us is right.

Yes is the short answer.

In each country that was involved in world war 2 there were native born Nazis. We had American Nazis, quite a few of them fought for Hitler during the war. The french had a whole mess of native son Nazis. The french Nazis in many cases were far more hard core than you average German Nazi.

In the end it is important to understand that the Nazi party was just that. A political party. You could join the Nazi party back then just as easily as you join the Democrats today. Just sign up.

Holly, if you remember the Nazi's started as a political party (a worker's union). That party allowed a wide array of members regardless of race until Hitler came to power and took over control of the party.

Hitler then formed the SS as a secret police to control the country, the Nazi Party and the military. That group was very tight and definitely was German (Aryian) only. They account for most of the war crimes, but the Army and Nazi Party did as well.

Hope this helps, Great Question!

The Nazi's were a political party, so the answer is "YES".

Most people think that the Nazi's were only a certain group of individuals (aryans), but in reality is was a political party that came to power.

If you weren't an "Aryan", I don't think you would have liked their ideas..... why would you like ideas that say that you were inferior and should be killed or at least enslaved?
If you were an "Aryan" European, e.g. a Frenchman or Scandinavian, you could collaborate with the Nazis, but I hope you would not have done that.

Yes, there were plenty of foreign volunteers (Norwegians, Swedes, Finns, Russians, Hungarians, Danes, Belgians, etc) who served in the SS in WW2.

Yes you can be come one.
How?
If your grands were Nazis and your parents were brought up in Nazi ideologies, they will automatically influence you.

If you have friends at school from Nazi families, they will influence you with Nazi ideologies and who knows if u will be interested joining there groups, since failure to it you will lose them as friends.

Through books,DVDs.... media can also play a role since its a free world full of information and technology, any one can get what he/she wants through various sources, so look at going in a Nazi shop and paying money to get all you need to know.

Hope my answers were use full.

Take care and please don't become one of them.

You would have to be German and not Jewish, but if you were of German descent that was fine too, but only arians were allowed to be SS or Schutstaffel (spelling?). They were the best trained and asked to do the vast majority of the 'dirty work'.
