She jumps on them and rolls around for a while before laying on them. Usually she starts running wildly around the house as well.

cats have their own things they find amusing , for whatever reason, we dont know . if they are sneakers im going to guess she likes playing with the shoe laces, as most cats love string, yarn...etc. My ferret LOVES my sneakers because he likes rubber stuff so he bites on the soles of them and drags them off. quite funny :)

my cat would go nuts over this one pair of shoes(only them) they where white leather keds. and the second they where off my feet she would have her face in them rolling on them..and well just being odd. she is 18 now and still gets a brust of energy to run around and sounds like an elephant. i have seen very few 'normal cats' they are all a bit odd really and none are ever the same...and all do their own odd thing... but thats a cat...

I have two kittens and they are like that. I think it is just a cat thing or something. I saw a lot of cats do it and they like to sleep or in the shoes or on top of the shoes.

It's not too unusual. Some cats really like the smell of shoes after feet have been perspiring in them.

Maybe you stepped in something that smells really appealing to the cat. My cat loves to roll on and pet herself on my son's sandals, and on my loafers. Maybe it has something to do with the leather or material the shoes are made of.

She probably finds something in the smell of your shoes that she likes very much.My one cat I used to have would look like he was making out with a Friends shoes too.At least she likes you and your shoes your visits probably bring her great joy and something to do for awhile.

No offense meant, but it must be the scent. As funny as it is, some animals find our feet delicious-smelling ANd tasting (yeww... I know). Both my cats love to rest their noses on my feet. And I had a rabbit that used to lick my toes.

i have 3 cats, and of them, taco, is the same.
shes a bit odd. she likes to try to fit into small places..shoes, bags, under the couch, in cupboards, etc. and after she finds the place she wants to go, or fit into, she rolls around and bathes in/on them. id say your friend's kitty is just adventurous.. some are playful their whole lives. :)
you friend should consider her/himself lucky :)
