Celebrations of any type are actually high stress events. Anticipation builds expectation and expectation unrealized builds disappointment.
A simple example is that you may be anticipating a romantic dinner and he gives you a set of chocolate underwear instead. In his mind he is giving a token of his desire for you and in your mind he is being cheap and sick.
Christmas is an even higher stress time when domestic violence reaches epidemic proportions.

I hate to rain on anybody's parade, but what difference does it make? Valentines day is just another day. It's significance is made up. There was no such person as Saint Valentine. He and the holiday were created to mimic the ancient mythological "gods" of the Romans and Greeks. In the modern world we are force fed by the media and the merchants to buy something to "prove our love". I would rather give a gift on a non-holiday. Then it is from the heart.
I say a breakup is best done on the day it is determined necessary. Why wait?

Valentine's day is a romantic day but mostly a commercial holiday. Did you decide exactly on that day that you wanted to break up? If so, then don't lead him on. Did you wait till after he gave you your present and bought you dinner, to tell him, then yes. That's messed up. You should have told him before.

Sometimes it just works out that way. But, if at all possible
I would have tried to wait for better timing. Breaking up with
someone on Valentine's Day could be really painful.

YES!!! I'd say you should have waited until the next day AT LEAST. No one wants to sit at home trying to recover from a fresh breakup on a day that love is suppose to be celebrated.

NO, but it is wrong if you dont explain why you want to.
Life is like a strong wind coming from the south east blowing at approx 30 knots. If you stand in it, it will blow your hair and maybe dry your face. So wear lip balm on your mouth so you lips dont get dry and cracked.
It is hard to kiss with dry lips.
