My vote goes to Amsterdam Schiphol AMS.

Of course the answer is very subjective, and depends on many factors and individual preferences. I have been to most of the world's major airports (both as a pilot and as a passenger), and each airport has its pros and cons. Heathrow LHR, Miami MIA, and Denver DEN are particularly poor.

In addition to Amsterdam AMS, some of the better airports are Minneapolis MSP, Stockholm ARN, and Sydney SYD.

A perfectly efficient airport would be one with minimal air traffic, endless sunshine, no storms, healthy fit passengers with no luggage, no employee strikes, empty parking lots, high speed rail service right to the terminal, and of course no hijackers or terrorists. If you find that airport let me know!

Daytona Beach International is one of the busiest airport in the country, even though most of the traffic is general aviation from the 6 flight schools located on the field (Embry-Riddle has almost 500 take off and landings alone per day). Plus all the commercial and corporate traffic. This place gets real busy during the NASCAR races. Nobody can get you in and out of an airspace like these guys.
