I would think that the navy is quite a safe way to serve your country, safer than the marines or army, more danerous than the air force.
Someone once said that "A good navy gaurantees peace." I kind of believe in that. If you can control the waters, you have quite an advantage over your enemy.

army workers flow to Iraq & Afghanistan alongside with the different place they are mandatory on the time. this contains what's called IA - individual Augmentee the place the advert member is going to a unit/command for as much as 3 hundred and sixty 5 days to paintings with them. All costs, all scores, male or lady are doing this. Then there's certainly army instructions in Bahrain, Kuwait, Djibouti. Then there is instructions like SeaBees, SEALs, EODs that flow to everywhere they are mandatory. Then there is the ships that are interior the midst of the Persian Gulf or in different places the place there is possibility. in case you do no longer p.c. to be in possibility then do no longer connect the militia.

It's very safe. A lot of it depends on your job of course. Being a Navy SEAL is a lot riskier than being a PN on sure duty in Damneck VA.

Send me an email or IM me on Yahoo Messenger if you want.
I would be happy to answer any questions to help you make an informed decision.

I just got out in Sept.

Just like any job accidents do happen. The more dangerous your job, the more likely you'll have an accident because someone wasn't following procedure, whether it's on the flight deck, the engine room, the nuclear reactor or the sailor who's swabbing the passageway.

I'm ex navy. I liked it. But don't be too hastey in your decision. Your job will define how risky it is for you. Obviously working on the flight deck is more dangerous than being a cook.

That depends on how lucky you are... Remember, once upon a time- a boat was built that people were told was, "unsinkable..." & lot's of people got on it- believing that. ...-And we all KNOW what happend to the S.S. Titanic... You make your choice, & you take your chances. Welcome to the Navy, son.
