Alot of people are blaming spiders for a MRSA infection. You better go and get it checked! If it is an infeciton, you'll need antibiotics, and
it won't get better without them. Either way, the swelling probably won't be better by tomorrow!

There was an interesting study in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2000 that indicated that out of all of the reported presentations of "spider bites" in the study, about 15% of them were actually insect bites at all, much less from spiders.
If I had a nickel for every time somebody pointed to a nondescript erythematous wheal on their skin and said "It's a brown recluse bite! I just know it! When is my skin going to start rotting off?", I'd be a rich man.
Of course, it's not entirely impossible that you were bitten by some sort of an insect, but the odds are highly against it. More likely it's just a localized dermal infection with associated erythema and lymphatic/purulent eructation. IE- it's a pimple.
Don't poke it or mess with it, or you'll spread the infection under your skin, and possibly cause it to form a cyst, which will give you a scar. Just disinfect the outside, put a Band-Aid on it, and let it drain on it's own. If it widens or deepens on it's own and starts weeping a lot of pus, make an appointment to see an MD so they can assess it.
All the best,
-Dr. Finn

I wish I could give you some good news, dearheart, but unfortunately I can't.
Spider bites are definitely going to get red and swell. On a positive note, the fact that you're not having an allergic reaction to the venom is a good thing.
The bite is full of venom. It's going to take time for your antibodies to break it down. A couple of days, at least. Unfortunately, the spider wasn't considering your rendezvous with your boyfriends family tomorrow.
My only suggestion to you is to use some cover-up makeup and try to hide it as best you can. There is really nothing that's going to make it go away. Venom is nasty stuff. I'm just glad that it was not a brown recluse or a black widow that bit you, you would definitely be worried about more than a bump, in that case.
Sorry honey, best news I can give you. Wish I could make it better for you.

If you keep picking at it, its going to scar over and might make it even worse. If its oozing, let it ooz because its probably something that needs to come out. I would also advise calling your DR tomorrow and see what he/she has to say about the ooz.
The swelling is your bodys defense response to the venom(inflammatory response). Its going to take time for that thing to heal and for your body to fight off whatever it was that bit you.
sorry hun, but I think you're out of luck with this one. Maybe you can reschedule the family date or as someone else said, use the coverup.

I think that if you are not sure whaat kind of spider bit you then you should go to the E.R. Spider bites can be very serious and if you don't want half of your face to rot off then go.
