I posted a question asking has anyone read the books written by Dr.Ali Shariati? And linked an address to a website containing some of his books.
www.shariati.com
He died about 30 years ago.
But poof 5 minutes later my question was removed?
Why?
It was just a simple question, I don't see anything wrong with it!

Welcome to Yahoo's Question and Answer. You have to get used to this because the whole thing is a total miss. I am starting to believe that the reviewers are robots or people with a certain agenda in mind.

What happened to you could be due to:

1. You did something wrong and therefore the question was not posted. You know how computers and webs behave sometimes.

2. Your question is referencing a book that was written by an Iranian scholar. Waters are very troubled right now between the US and Iran.

3. Question was reported as insulting by either some anti-Iranian or anti-Islamic person. Since the process of reviewing the question in Yahoo is robotic, the question was automatically deleted.

4. Question was reported by a Muslim who does not like Ali Shari'ati due to Ali's personal views on religious matters, particularly when someone like Jean Paul Sarter (a bohemian and an atheist philosopher) supports him.

My advice... do not let your mind roam and stretch the fact more than it is. TAKE IT EASY!

PS: I'll look for the book, myself, and read it. The whole thing sounds interesting.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the YQ&A referees. Someone probably flagged it, and it was either removed by a computer program, or by one of the referees, who on evidence have less than a room temperature IQ on a cold day.
Postscript, re first response: If comments about Islam are being deleted simply because somebody thinks that the comments are wrong, or degrade Islam, this constitutes an extremely serious flaw in the system. There needs to be a maximum freedom of speech, limited only by decorum. Islam is as worthy a target of criticism as is any other religion -- indeed, more so than most.

I think you have to ask a more open question. I answered one that was similar to this about whether people wanted more information on mormonism and the question was deleted for not being a "true" question. That's probably all it is, not anything against you. If you want to talk about his books, ask for everyone's opinion on them.

I saw your question, but many questions are deleted because they contain a word that is flagged by the main computer. Perhaps one of them was in there.

I know it must be an epidemic of deleting going on here...yesterday and last night I answered some good questions and today all of them have been removed and I cant understand why...nothing offensive in any of them.....

Yahoo probably doesn't want a fatwa issued against them, so it's safer to make fun of christians and jews.

I have legitimate questions pre-empted sometimes. But I always figured it was due to prior bad acts.

You mention linking a web address ... could it be "advertisement"? I've seen other sites advertised but this is my best guess.
