Should you tip a manicurist if she is the owner of the salon?

My regular manicurist was on vacation so the woman who owns the salon did my nails. Should I have tipped her???

If she did a good job yes you should have tipped her. It shows appreciation of the job she did:) It's a respect thing.

i have to be honest.....you shouldnt tip....rule is you never tip the owner...however.....i know alot of these people love counting their tips....they love the tips more then their pay because it was free money...how good of a point of view could that be?....if it were me, i wouldnt tip a dime....i know this because my parents owned like 20 nail salons.....you shouldnt have to tip ever when you see the owner....my mom never expects the tip.....but the workers always do...and always love their tip money like its the most precious thing in the world......maybe thats how my mom got to own all those stores....it does separate the workers from the owners..and that...is the first thing you have to know if you are a nail salon owner.....

Tipping an employee is the correct thing to do. Those tips in many cases are how they make a living.

Tipping the owner of any establishment would be considered an insult.

Absolutely. Never mind that she is the owner. She performed a service that someone would normally tip for.
