IN other words the answer is 849 uA. 1000 uA =1 mA = 0.001 A
That's very easy, you just move the point over so many digits as is the difference between units and subunits of measure (to the left when transform from units to subunits, or to right when from subunits to units). Like 1 A makes 1000 mA and 1 000 000 uA. And vice versa, you know that units have more sub units than one, but 1 subunit cannot complete 1 subunit so is less than 1.
Like in you case 0.849 mA is not a 1 mA so also there's not a full 1000uA, but only 849.
Hope that helped

Drop the "0." and you have your answer. 1 mA, equals 0.001 Amps. 1 uA equals 0.000001 Amps. Remember, "milli" is 3 places to the right of the decimal point, Micro, or "u" is 6 places.

mA=1/1000A
uA=1/1000000A
0.849mA=0.849*1000uA=849uA
It means that for converting mA to uA,multiply with 1000

mA = milliamperes (thousanths of an ampere)
uA = microamperes (millionths of an ampere)
0.849 mA = 849. uA
