well guys n gals i hve atrributed one file as hidden but i can't view it now. plz don't tell me about (((tools-folder options-view-show hidden files)))). because this option is not present there. and ya i also don't know the file name but i know the folder in which it is located. and ya this is the OS Name ::Microsoft Windows XP Professional

start/search and type in the file name.Then place it where you can reach it.

I would suggest to follow exactly the steps that you did not want to be told, Tools>Folder Options>View here I suggest you to also uncheck "Hide Protected Operating system files" This reveals hidden folders too (just in case you happened to save the file you are searching in a OS system folder).

Some virus make folder option dissappear.
try hidden files viewer.
Alt method: Start search it by name.
other wise Go to tool tab the go folder option. Go to view tab. Than make ok to show hidden files. then click ok.

Go to your control panel. Click on folder options. Click on the "view" tab, scroll down until you see "Hidden files and folders"

If the file is in use you can't open it.
You may be able to copy it and open it.

there is no flder option in tools
