yes i went to mine alone because i couldn't afford to take out a girl [my excuse for being shy] but i have no regrets and maybe i would have regretted it if i didn't, but i did dance with a girl that i said no to when she asked me out to it, because i didn't want her to think i liked her that much, [but she went with another guy and we all sat at the same table] because we had nothing in common and later lost touch with each other over the years. oh! and by the way i think the ticket to the prom said ' a night to remember' and on that night i decide to be a good Samaritan and my first good deed was to pick up a couple hitchhiking because that's what Samaritans are suppose to do right? right?! right! well guess what ..... they pulled a gun and took my wallet and truck ....soooooo. it was a night to remember! ,,, Right! well anyway i would tell you more about my life but it only gets worse so maybe not tonight. [yes this is all strange but true!]

I definately think that you should go to your senior prom.
It seems that a great majority of the people that have answered your question didn't go to their proms and have regretted it... I can say the same for myself.
I realized my senior year that everyone really started getting along... in a sappy sort of way, everyone kind of realized it was the last couple months/days we'd be together, and all those old feelings of rivalries, cliques and popularity issues were moot. No matter what happened at the prom, everyone seemed to have bonded over it. The stories are still shared over myspace, and I kind of wish I had something to add when my friends start talking about it.
There are two times in a girl's life she gets to dress up like a princess.. her prom and her wedding.
Go for it! Glam up and have a great time, either by yourself, with a friend, or a date. However you do it, do it for yourself. It's YOUR time to shine. Regardless of how cheesy it sounds, it's ture. Expecially because you mentioned that you always wanted to go. Stay for the whole thing, absorb it all in, you'll look back on it for years to come.
You can have your own little mini-prom anytime you want... your SENIOR PROM is only one night. And since you said you go to a small school, it will be more intimate. Don't miss out on that.
I didn't listen to anyone who advised me to go, and I regret it now. I'd hate for anyone else to regret it... so go for it!
Good luck! Have a WONDERFUL time!!

I was never particularly fond of anyone from my school, so I chose a friend from another school as my prom date and we had a blast at my senior prom, despite the fact he didn't know any of my classmates. If you don't go, you'll probably regret it because it's your last high school dance. I took pictures and danced with people I had never even spoke to all through high school ... it was a really good time. Go and have fun. What do you have to lose?

yea mention the idea of a little mini prom to your friend and to the person you want to go with, and if both of them say yea, you should go ahead and do it, it may end up that you'll have more fun with your friends thgan if you go to the regular prom, plus you'll have a story to tell when you get older and look back on it. either way, have fun =]

I didn't go to my senior prom and I have always regretted it...do it for yourself and no one else! It is better to go and not have it be "the night of your life" than to not go and always wonder if you should have!

I would go and hang out a little bit and then go out with friends. I wish I would have gone to mine but at that time I did not think it was a big deal. Go and have a good time and enjoy yourself.

i have seen that commercial, and that i love it. i presumed the area with Longoria and Damon grow to be fairly humorous! i did not understand they were easily going to flow through with it besides the undeniable fact that. yet i imagine that is cool, and a impressive aspect to do. You should do what you want to do. Just cause your friend can't go doesn't mean you can't. Just go and have fun, you never know, you might make some new friends!
