I was born Christian, but have long since renounced that faith. I currently consider myself an atheist, but I don't want to reject all religion simply because the faith of my family isn't right for me.

I want to know where I can learn about other, less common religions, particularly pagan ones, that would be more in line with my liberal beliefs.

I am, by definition, a weak atheist.

I don't see any reason to believe that there is a god, but at the same time, I cannot prove that there is not.

This is why I want to search, and see if I can find something that actually makes sense.

Please don't give me any Bible links. I have read the Bible, and don't trust it.

I mention liberalism, because the Judeo-Chrisitan rules against things like homosexuality are one of the major factors which turned me against the religoin in the first place.

I already have my own moral system. I already know right from wrong. What I need is a religion that has morals similar to my own

read some of my answers ,there are some radical views
check David Ickes the biggest secret on www.infowars
look for AnunakiPDF
and http//the emerald tablets of Thoth ,a philosiphy 36.000 years old

to find anything worth while you must be well before 6000 years ago,for the origins of Paganism
that is when global control through all organized religion came in ,in Babylon from the same council under the strategy of divide and conquer,to split up humanity for a better control and to make profits on the conflicts (the story of the tower of babel)

all, religions based their beliefs on Pagan religions to convert the people more easily using the same Holy days
so begin looking after Thoth

and all Religions where based on Cosmic bodies ,the later religions substituted the Cosmic bodies for human godlike Charactors and invented stories around them ,in the end the people believed these more than the original presentations
jesus was based on the story of Horus (6000 years earlier )and horus was a representation of the death and rebirth of the sun (father Osiris ,death holy ghost ,rebirth or reincarnation Horus ,all being one ,the magic trioligy)
Jesus in earlier times was known as the Sun god

The Belief-O-Matic quiz over at Beliefnet.com is fun:

http://www.beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html

And sometimes the answers can be pretty surprising.

You can try the discussion forums on the same site:

http://www.beliefnet.com/boards/boards_main.AllCategories.asp?Category=102

That's the URL for the Wiccan set, but they also have sections for Pagans and just about every religion you can imagine:

http://www.beliefnet.com/boards/index.asp

You might also try Religionfacts.com:

http://www.religionfacts.com

And Religioustolorance.org has a small but very informative section on some of the NeoPagan faiths:

http://www.religioustolerance.org/neo_paga.htm

As well as entries on a number of less common religions (scroll down to the bottom of the page):

http://www.religioustolerance.org/var_rel.htm

Have fun on your search.

Books, internet, wikipedia.

Or take a world religions class.

it's really easy if you really want to know. Oh and there is more to being an atheist than just saying that you don't beleive in jesus...you sound more agnostic to me.

your faith is unique to you, it doesn't matter what you believe as long as you have some sort of moral guide lines, and respect for life.

I don't think you're atheist. I think you believe in God but not what some Christian faiths teach. Questioning things is good -- it makes you go on your own journey for the truth.

In my brother's search for the truth, he bought books on every faith and religion including what's considered pagan. Read everything from everywhere.

Truth is the real religion, if you cant find that, no matter what you believe is counted as your self assumptions.

To be a liberal you dont have to find any religion, because every religion has set goals, and code of life, where religion of liberals are based on assumptions, self made, and have no end goal except ego orientaion.

More will be a headache.

When I had first rejected Christianity, and was researching other faiths, I spent a lot of time in bookstores, at the library, and talking to people of other faiths.

Try using google to search for others who believe like you do.

Talk to them, or find churches, or hang-outs, depending on your preference.

Or just quietly read about it on the web. It has lots of information.

http://www.religioustolerance.org/var_rel.htm has a lot of world religions & their beliefs, if you are feeling a bit lazy & just want to research them fast.
