Ok, my husband is deployed and My 3 young children (5 and younger) and I are moving to a different house in about a month. I am so stressed about moving in 1 month with 3 kids and a housefull of stuff. To make life a little less stressful when the time to move actually is here Im trying to figure out what to pack now. I have packed up books, some pots and pans, and then I draw a blank. I have looked around my house, but the stress of just thinking about the move causes me to fluster and then I cant even think about what to pack. The housing department on post will only allow us 5 days to move all of our stuff out of the house and to clean it once i sign for our new house. Any suggestions would be great cause Im going nuts thinking about this.

Yep, do the kitchen first. Just keep out the basics, one set of cutlery and plate/bowl/cup/glass for everyone. It'll make clean-up easier, too! The day you move, that's when you pack your 'basics'.

Then, pack up things like blankets, seasonal clothes, and the like.

Now, set aside a room and put all your boxes there. Trust me, we just moved and this made it so easy! On moving day, make sure you have 3-4 dollies and it'll go so quick. It sounds like a lot of dollies, but it's just and easy in-and-out from this one room.

Good luck!

First of all, what U need to do is to start packing away all ur things from the basement , second, work ur way to dining and living room furniture, third, bedroom furniture and other things that u r not using. Throw away anything that u are pratically not using anymore. The only thing that u should have that is important is , the refrigerator for the food, clothing to make it last for a month, and finally, relieve urself from stress until the big day comes so then u can be able to coordinate the rest of ur belongings. Hope this helps u . My fiance and I are planning this as well for the next 2 months.

First of all I would start with closets and storage. get rid of as much stuff as possiable. clothing the kids don't fit in, old toys they don't even know they have anymore, ect... Then I would do the kitchen that takes the longest. You probably aren't going to have to many dinner parties in the next month with boxes every where so keep out only what you need. a few plates bowls and silverware. If your budget is ok I would use paper products and put everything away. garbage bags are your friends! they are great for tupperware, stuff animals, sheets pillows ect... To some things up do one room at a time. and take one day at a time. I know how stressful it can be.

Box up everything that is not a necessity, like spring/summer clothes, any dishes that are not needed, extra bedding, all of your pictures and what nots. Clean out ( if you have them) junk drawers and get rid of stuff that is not useful and in the way. If you won't have a lot a help the day of moving, the week before, start taking the kids beds apart, and either have them sleep with you or make them a little tent area and let them "go camping." We have had to move with 5 kids, but thank goodness ours weren't as small as yours. Good luck, hope this helps

I have moved plenty of times and what i do is pack anything that doesn't get used regularly and then only leave enough plates knives and such for everyone in the family pack the rest and so on for every room in the house therefore when it comes to the last days be for moving there are only the essentials to pack and the furniture
good luck and happy moving

it sounds like a good idea but don't go packing up your entire house either. I just moved and considering how far ahead you are thinking i'm sure you will be fine... if only i was that prepared, that might have saved me from the poorly packed box hell im in right now lol...anyways good luck

I would start looking at any silverware, dishes, or china you have, and packing them up. Instead use like paper plates and stuff. Also you could pack of any fragile stuff. Any fragile decorative things, like paintings, or vases. Good Luck.

Keep your toiletries and about four sets of clothes unpacked, you can always rewash them. Pack your kitchen stuff up, and eat in restaurants or serve frozen convenience or canned foods, salads, fruit, sandwhiches. Use paper plates and plastic utensils.

it's always good to pack first the thing that you don't need usually, all the cloth, toys, and other stuff, just leave unpack the thing that you must use in the time that remained you until you move.
also i can recommend you to read some advise and tips about it.

Things that you don't normally use. Like sheets. Just use the ones that are on the bed now. Towels.....just leave out like 2. knick knacks. movies. non perishable foods that you won't use. any pictures you have on your wall. half of their toys. Keep out one cup for everyone.....rest pack up, same with plates and silverware.
