I've been taking it for a few years now and it just seems like I'm tired all the time. When I wake up I'm tired, when I get home I take a nap and I'm still tired, I go to bed tired.. I just never have any energy. I was wondering if anyone else has been on Zoloft and experienced similar things? I suffer from depression so I know my sleeping probably has something to do with that too, but I really feel exhausted like I need to sleep, not just because I want to. Also, I've gained a lot of weight while taking Zoloft, can anyone relate? Thanks!!!

zoloft made me so tired. I would take naps every day. Like 4 hours long. then still go to bed at like 10-11 pm. I was to nervous to stop taking it though for fear of depression coming back. then i had to switch insurance, which didn't cover it and when I stopped taking it i was no longer tired. Now I am on lexapro, works as well as zoloft but no sleepiness.

You should tell your doctor, just incase the fatigue is from anything else. I also gained weight, probally from sleeping so much.

I am also tired and sleepy all the time. I have gained a lot of weight and been on Zoloft for 2 years.
I just never thought that Zoloft could be the reason.
Thanks for writing. I will see my doctor and ask about taking something else for my depression. It has been a great medicine but I didn't realize the side effects.

What a great question. I have been taking Zoloft for about 11 yrs. I have gained weight but it could be from other reasons. At menopause time, I got major depression and started out with 200mg. Through the years, thinking about this weight gain, I slowly started cutting back. Right now I take 50mg. Menopause, stress, depression and older age can cause weight gain. I know I haven't answered your question, but I have read that it could cause weight gain, that's why I started cutting back. I am interested to here these answers also. I don't think that your weight will lessen, if you stop taking it or switch meds.

Talk to your doctor about it and see what he/she says.

I took Zoloft for maybe a couple of years. The Zoloft used to make me really tired, so I took the med at night so that I could sleep off the tiredness. I was always feeling fine the next day when I got up. As for weight gain, I haven't had that issue but it is a side effect. I only quit taking Zoloft as I felt like it wasn't working for me anymore. I was constantly spacing out, couldn't think or concentrate as well, and made me feel like as if my head was empty or light-weight.
