How many Liberals do you think were willing to join the military when Clinton was attacking/invading:
Haiti
Sudan
Iraq
Serbia
Kosavo
Afghanistan
All without either UN or Congressional approval.
But to take it a step further,
should those who want cleaner air, stop driving cars, stop using electricity
those who want universial health care...... pay for someone elses health care
those who want more social services, go to work for the welfare or human services dept
those who want higher tax's.....volunteer to pay higher tax's
No insult intended, but thats a silly question.

Absolutely! My husband has 14 yrs in the Army. I was unable to join due to health problems. My husband was in the first Gulf War and saw a lot of things regarding the Iraq/Arabian people that disgusted him. I don't feel Iraq is worth dying for, for many various reasons... but since our military has been given a mission, I support the mission and the troops all the way.
My husband will re-enlist once are children are older (we ETS'd because of me... his next "job" would've had him deployed for years, no coming home). We had them very young so he'll be young enough to do whatever he wants. I'm excited about going back. It's really missed in our house.

Yep. Plain and simple. We better do it over there, because if not we are going to have to do it here someday. Why leave the mess for our children. By then if left unchecked the enemy will be even stronger and much harder to eliminate. Get them now where they live instead of waiting. As Teddy Roosevelt said Talk softly and carry a big stick. Well, it is way past time to use that stick and do some woopass on terrorists. It has gone on too long and has to be stopped.

I was, and still am for the war. And I did fight in it. Every couple months I lose a friend to the war and I still support it. I'd much rather we win the war than lose it, the majority of the military feels that way.

Do you not know that more American troops die by accident at home than by enemy action in Iraq?
Do you not know that of the troops sent into harms way in Afghanistan and Iraq only a very small minority have become casualties of enemy action?
Haven't you seen that most of the troops are doing security and police work while Afghans and Iraqis are building and rebuilding their nations with the help of Americans and Coalition partner nations and businesses?
Do you not know that ALL those troops are there voluntarily? Nobody had to lie to them or force them to go. They're there for love of Country and their neighbors.
I've been in one war. However, were I able, I'd be there beside them in Afghanistan or Iraq. And to die should my time come.

Not for the war. Am a Vet. This is a case of the wolf leading the sheep to slaughter. Do the soldiers not relaize the VA funding is being cut every year? G.Bush says support the troops yet he cuts any and all medical funding for them.

Then you're an idiot.
I do, and I have - I just joined the US Army Reserves at the age of 42.
This Chickenhawk meme is really, really, worn out and is uttery anti-American. We have civilian control of the military.
According to you, if you really believe in Firefighting, you should be willing to become a firefighter. Or police...or...Anyway, don't be silly.

I was for it and i fought in it. Just like if the US goes to war with NK i'll re-up and fight there, why because our great nation has called on us to do it.
