I became aware of boxing as a young kid in the early 1970's, so I'll pick a fighter after that point. I would have to say Salvador Sanchez. He had it all. Expert counter puncher, cool and calm in the ring for someone so young. Cocky and confident but not to the point where he put people off. Had great upper body movement, could sit in the pocket and make his opponent pay by avoiding punches and landing extremely accurate counter punches. He never changed facial expression in the ring whether he was getting hit or hitting. Always came in in top condition for his fights, you never saw him gasping for air in the corner between rounds. He also had good power for a featherweight. When he did get hit he displayed his iron chin. he was also very swift on his feet and had an extremely educated left hand. Had the guts and heart it takes to be a champion and an all time great.

I've seen a lot of boxers, but the best of all is Muhammad Ali.
He was smart, fast and strong.
He fought against the best group of boxers of all time, and that counts.
He brought boxing to another level.

Roy Jones- fastest punches ever, rock hard body, dedicated, entertaining, totally dominated everyone and every class in his prime, which spanned more than a decade, also very strong, and add to that his great skill and speed, he was made to be the most perfect boxer ever.

Very difficult question to answer. I have watched Ali with his teriffic speed and dazzling footwork. I have seen films of the great Willie Pep and Sugar Ray Robinson but the fighter I always loved to watch fight and his style was the late great Salvador Sanchez as he was so stoic and business like in his approach to boxing and a great fighter with fantastic boxing skills and talent.

The best I've seen is Mike Tyson but the best of all time, Muhammad Ali. But don't forget about Joe Louis. He was a demon in his day.

Probably Jack Johnson. They say they you could go to sleep, wake up two hours later, and Johnson would still be fighting.(The days when boxing was "Until one man falls or quits.") There is a fight where Johnson gets decked to the canvas. He gets up, and CRUSHES his opponent, knocking him out. And if you look closely, you can see Johnson picking his opponents teeth off of his gloves. (They were embedded.) Jack Johnson is considered to be the best defensive fighter in boxing history. (Oh, and the first Black Champion.)

Ray Leonard, though as far as technique, Howard Davis Jr was good, and there were fights in which Greg Page showed glimpses of his immense natural talent.
