Hi there! My fiance sufers the same. Hey i know it's not fun...BUT it is curable and knowing that it can help you fight more with it. Therapy helped him a lot and also not being closed inside his home but doing everything normal, facing social events and eventually seeing that they are not so scary. More you keep youself away from it more it makes the fear grow!
Visit this site, it will help you see you are not the only one - many of those who suffer the same, or even worse social anxiety, but also many of those who got cured!

Hi Sexi baby girl,
Its ok to feel like that sweety. There are alot of people that feel ackward or weird with anixety and panic disorder. The fear of social situations is the most common deterent in so many of us with panic and or anxiety disorder. You are not alone sweety. Dont let that get you thinking that there is something wrong with you just because you act "weird" as you say. We ALL feel like that especially in social situations. I would suggest speaking with your Doctor and maybe he or she can prescribe you something else that will take that anxiety from you a little better. There is some GREAT meds that can change your whole life around sweety. God Bless You!!

p.s. Prayer has helped me and could help you as well.

I have pretty much the same problem. Oddly enough, this is the weekend I chose to finally go out after about 2 months of staying in all the time and never being social.
Think about it this way, do you want to be stuck inside all of your life? Do you want to be alone all the time? Sooner or later you will have to go out into society and deal with it, especially while you're still young. Live your life and make the most out of it because as far as I know, you only live once. I know it's hard not to care what others think all the time but start going out and be less self-conscious because believe it or not people would enjoy you more when you are less self-conscious. Just be yourself. Good luck!

i had what sandra had i was house bound for 7and a half years ,and i"ll never get them back, it started with me at when i was in my late 20s well lasted till 1993, i started taking baby steps a walk to the corner and then around the block, then wen i started bigger steps i would have a friend go with me for support it helps, get on depression medicatin, that works 4 u and don't let people an what others think bother you, don't matter what they think, what you feel is real, please don't let it consume you, your in control ,, you need to take control , if you start to get an attack or start to feel weirded out just count your self down from 10 to 0 and say over an over im in control. it helps ,really i wish you all the best in the world, take care god bless , gabby

Make a list of threatening situations, and rank them in order of least to most threatening. Get a trusted friend to accompany you while you confront each threatening thing, do it with your imagination first, then in a real life situation. As you confront each item you will notice your anxiety will peak and hit a threshold and subside. You can practice doing breathing or relaxing exercises or positive self talk beforehand for use in each "confrontation", I would also discuss paxil with your doctor.

hi,
it appears that your social anxiety has allowed the start of agoraphobia in you. (fear of being out among people/crowds).
do not let this fear get too good a grip on you, force yourself to go out, anywhere, take someone with you if you need to, but go out.
i let agoraphobia get its grips on me and i was totally homebound (except for escorted visits to my doc's) for 12 longgggggg years!
