I heard the answer on Rachel Ray's talk show today. The guest she had on said hot oil is much better. Not only with the mayo stink for a few days....apparently of a period of time it creates a build up that weighs down your hair making it look flat and unhealthy.

I would just go with the hot oil treatment, mayo has the same benefits but you will be washing your hair for a few days to get the smell out.

I would use the hot oil treatment. Mayo will leave your hair stinky for a few days, and if you try to wash out the stench, it will completely defeat the purpose of using it in the first place. Good luck!

just use warm extra virgin olive oil its full of anitoxidants.
