That depends on where the car is register,,, the car will have to be registered either in your state of residence or new jersey. If the car is from another state you will have to it get insurance from home state,,,,can't have more than 2 states at a time,, home and secondary state for work or pleasure,,, but not a third one

You can get it in any state. But I would strongly advise you to get it locally though.
