Yes you can still be productive! Don't let depression ruin you totally, don't let it take over your life. There is hope and happiness! I fight depression every day, to the point to where I have panic attacks. Several years ago I became disabled due to diabetes! I am only 32. I started having trouble with my vision and lost my job, MY home and my car. I was a single mom and very independant. Notice I said all that was MINE!! I bought it and I paid for it. I met a guy and got married within 3 months for the insurance mainly, and then I started drawling SSI after a couple of years. I also fought like a troop to keep my vision. Of course I still have bad days. But you can do it, don't be so hard on yourself! Now I get to stay home and raise my 11 year old daughter. Good luck to you! ;o)

As for my opinion depression, is something that all the human have in a way of stress. And they can b a productive member by all means. Unless they find they self that they cannot cope and start with tablets(which means they still b productive but at times they can't cope).

Yes but you justhave to watch that you do not overdo things as that will make you ill. I've had it since the 1980's but the older you get the more it seems to drain your physical strength and it is more of an effort to do things. It is better though to try and not just sit about staring at the ceiling.

Yes. One of my friends is an RN who suffers from clinical depression and she works in a Psyche Ward. She takes her pills and stays busy is how she deals with it.

Yes, definitely; Winston Churchill suffered from depression all his adult life, both as Lord of the Admiralty, and as Prime Minister; painting was a therapy he used.
