Israel has often boasted of its spectacular victories against ill armed Arab regimes.But if encouraged to launch an invasion of Iran, could the IDF hope to prevail against a military that is regarded as one of the most experienced and disciplined in the region?

Israel won't launch a ground invasion of Iran. They don't have that capability. They may use air strikes & missiles to destroy Irans nukes. Whatever else they were, the Arabs are not ill armed. They have tons of money & they can & have bought modern arms.

The Republican Guard was also seen as well organized and strong fighters. But they dissolved before we got to them. I think Iran would put up more of a fight than Iraq did, but Israle is better armed and equipped with more modern weaponry. Israel would not invade anyway. They might conduct air strikes, but it's more likely that they have the US do it for them. We have a long history of tying Israel's hands in matters that are not specific to their security so as not to destabalize the region further. Tonight, Beck said that he thinks Bush will hit Iran before he leaves office to force the hand of the next president. He perceives that his mission is to change the face of the middle east, and he thinks other viable candidates won't have the resolve to do it. I hope he's wrong about that. N. Korea has a completely different culture and mindset than Iran, but diplomacy seems to be working... but that's another topic. Maybe diplomacy can work in Iran too. If not, we take out their reactors and keep Israel out of it.

Israel will not invade Iran. They may bomb the nuclear plants, and soon, but they have what is called "The Samson Sanction". All 400 of their nuclear weapons are pointed at Arab cities. If attacked, they will do like Sampson did when he pushed down the pillars of the heathen temple: Knowing they are going to be eliminated, they will take the Arabs with them

Lets all hope this doesn't happen I believe Iran wants nuclear weapons because Israel has them Right now the first strike belongs to Israel conventional or otherwise

Why would Israel invade Iran? They have had the opportunity before but did do it, because they have no intention of doing so.
