Can we possibly bring our daughter to Canada, now that our passports were already asked by the embassy for visa issuance. Can a last minute application for my daughter cause delay for our earliest departure? My CIC agent in Cebu failed to advise me so I could have applied earlier before our visa be finalized. I expect our visa to arrive two weeks from now and we're leaving this April. Can my daughter's visa catch the schedule if filed just this time. We're applying the Skilled Worker/Family Class Permanent Residence Visa.

My advice to you would be to wait for sometime and send the birth certificate, photocopies of the passport and photographs of your daughter to the canadian immigration office along with a letter explaining the situation. Better to have few months delay then to have nothing at all.

I do not know about the immigration rules, but I do know that in North Vancouver there are many Philippino families, but it is a very expensive place to live. We lived there for 20 years. We have now moved to the West Kootenays in the interior of British Columbia and find it much more laid back and more economical to live. It depends on what kind of job you are looking for. We have sponsored a friend from Or Mindoro to come here and he is all ready whenever the Canadian Immigration authorities get off their duff and allow him to come. We wish you much success in your search. Manitoba is probably hte least expensive place to live but it is VERY cold in winter.
