Hate to break it to you, but there is no quick way to lose weight, and things like this just aren't going to work. Plus the extra salt will cause you to bloat, which I'm sure is not what you want. That sounds awful. The reason you'd lose weight is because you're not eating. As soon as you stop the fast you're going to gain all the weight back. It's not healthy for your body to do that to it. Once you deprive yourself (go below the minimum recommended for you body, which for most women is never below 1000 calories a day) your body will go into starvation mode. Then, when you do start to eat again, your body will store more of it as fat, not less. That's why most people who diet end up 15% heavier at the end of it all. Do something healthy.

Jodi, Fasting to cleanse yourself is one thing (short term) but fasting to lose weight is pratically an oxymoron. I say this from experience and education: If you fast to lose weight, you will lose weight. And then, you will gain back twice as much. Not to mention fasting without supervision can be deadly. Don't fall for that ignorant crap. Just go by the basic laws of thermodynamics. Eat less than the energy you are expending. Create muscle tone and muscles burn through calories like you know what goes through a goose.

I am beginning this fast today. My wife has inspired me as I have witnessed her drop sizes before my eyes. And she has way more energy than before. I was a big skeptic, but I supported her. Now we are going to do it together.
Her advice is to start when you don't have a lot of things to do to distract you or temp you back to your old routines and eating habits. Less TV and more self-focus well help. A small support system, friend, or spouse can help if needed. Maybe you can keep a journal or a blog for yourself as well.
I can't stress this enough. The hardest part is the first couple of days. Your body is likely going to fight and crave the bad foods your used to, kind of like withdrawal for a drug addict. But it WILL pass and you'll feel better. Search the web for the signs of the detox so you are prepared.
Fasting is not conducive to our fast food , quick fix society. You can tell by the responses of many of the people on this topic. They are convinced it doesn't work but have not tried it. And if they have, they likely quit early during the early detox process. We are sold images of unhealthy foods everywhere we go, and waistlines are expanding everywhere you look as a result.
Lastly, Don't cheat yourself. Your body will know and respond negatively. If you are going to do this diet, do it all the way! That way, at the end of the fast, you can give a true opinion of this fast. My wife has never felt better, and she looks geat! I know this will happen to me. It can happen to you as well.
Good Luck! -Derek

No, and don't think you're wise continue this as you are enabling
you body of nutrients it needs daily. Stick with this and your hair
will start falling out, your teeth will rot, your nails won't grow,
etc. Your body needs calcium, iron, multiple vitamins, but I'm
just about 3 x your age what do I know? Iv'e tried every diet you could ever think of and lost many lbs. the old fashion way WORK
OUTS!
