Pay an ASE tech to diagnosis it correctly. You could end up "tuning " the car and its still not running right, then you just wasted that money. A trained tech should quickly find out your problem and give you the best options for a cure. Dont always "assume" a tune up is the cure all. As an internal failure or such could also give you the same symptoms. Good luck

Check the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator for leaking and correct. You probably need new plugs and apply plug grease so the spark does not track to ground.Coils can be checked by taking both of the plug wires on one coil off and then start the car.If it arcs on both terminals it is OK.Do not touch while running as it may kill you.The spark is high volt and amperage.

i own a repair shop, and it probably does need a real good tune up,it cant never hurt one to tune it up especially if its running rough,i usually tune them up ,so that i can rule this out of being part of the problem with them.also the timing chains in those gave lot of problems on them,i have seen them jump a tooth or two,and make them run real rough, you need to do the tune up first, and see if that helps it,and then go from there ,good luck,i hope this help,s.
