Marriage is a major istitution - where a human being grows personally,socially and emotionally.
Many ppl get married just to fulfil their social responsibilties, many get married to overcome lonliness or in search of companionship.
Marriage is respected so much because it is the foundation of society, Humans are so different from the other species beacuse of society- that means without marriage we would all be just another pack of mammals just existing without a purpose.

Well some people here get married to get citizenship and I personally think some or the majority think or are in love and they want to take their relationship make it more permanent and some get married because their girlfriend is pregnant and her family puts pressure on the guy to do so. My ex-husband married his 1st wife when she was 15 and he was 19 for that reason

It is very difficult for a person to live alone for his/her whole life and therefore he needs a companion to share feelings and want someone to be with him/her in difficult times. In India a man and a woman cant live together unless you get into a formal ceremony of marriage. In western world, there is no compulsion of marriage and we hear that people live together for life without getting married. But in Indian context it is important to get married. Moreover, I feel that marriage creates a bond between a man and a woman that helps them stay together for their lifetime

The reason people get married is supposed to be that they have found someone they want to share everthing with for the rest of their lives..But it doesn't always work out that way..some get married just to get away from home. others marry because they don't want to be alone, some marry for money...so see theres alot of reasons why ppl get married.

They get married because they love eachother and want to spend their life together blah blah..there is so many things why people get married. I got married because I love my husband I wanted to be with him day and night, wake up next to him, and I wanted to be called his wife and other things.
