I didn't have quite this situation, but I am a chronic sinus sufferer and I have had sinus and nose surgery. I had a deviated septum, a bone spur, and concha bullosa (basically an air pocket in the bones where there shouldn't be).

I was having a migraine every day...it was awful. Don't worry for a second about the surgery, just do research on your surgeon to make sure you are comfortable with the abilities of him/her.

I have never regretted having that surgery. I was scared senseless going in, but I felt SO much better after that surgery, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

The roughest part for me was all the flushing out of my nose with the saline water that I had to do for some time after the surgery. I really hated that, but that didn't hurt...it was just an annoyance. Follow your aftercare instructions to the letter and you should do just fine.

Good luck and I hope it will make you feel better too!

The abcess likely left scar tissue in your sinus cavity, thus the chronic infections. I had sinus surgery to remove scar tissue and repair of a deviated septum,to relieve me of chronic infection, headaches, pain etc. It fixed me up by 90% Can't remember the last time I had a headache or a sinus infection. Pretty gross stuff comes out after surgery.............but what a relief!
