No, she won't be there after a year. What kind of shelter did you bring her to? You did you make sure it was a no-kill shelter before you turned her in, right?

Probably not any legal way. Your only hope would be that the new owners would be willing to give her back. You did what you had to do at the time, which was very responsible of you. It was not what you wanted, but you knew it was the right thing for her. A year is an awfully long time for a dog. She is likely very settled in her current home with her current people. If she came back to you, she would have to readjust...again.
If you are in a good place to have a dog right now, maybe you should consider adopting a dog who is in need of a good home.
Maybe you can't get your previous dog back, but you could help another dog that may need you more than she does.
Good luck

I accept as true with you i might have accomplished the comparable think of. human beings could be extra in charge with there pets. i does no longer have long gone and spoken with the girls human beings if the dogs become in this kind of project. all the bleeding hearts will extra then in all threat say that she could no longer arise with the money for a vet yet this is crap. Why get a dogs in the 1st place in case you won't be in a position to arise with the money for to shelter it. some vets and shelters assist you to pay it off over a quantity of time. This woman did no longer should get her dogs decrease back.

No, you can't get your dog back. It's either been adopted or put down and it's unlikely that the new adoptive parents would be willing to return the dog to someone who'd take it to a shelter in the first place.
Shame on your for surrendering your dog for conveniences sake. Worse than shame on you, what kind of terrible person would treat thier loving pet as disposable?? I would fight and scrape and rearrange my entire life and that of everyone around me rather than surrender a single one of my pets.

Once you sign the papers to owner surrender your pet, it is evaluated, spayed and put up for adoption. New owners are only told that this dog was given up by its owner, for whatever reason. I doubt you could even get any info on who adopted her.
I think you should do whats best for the dog and leave her be.
Rescue a new dog...start over fresh...get another girl dog and name her Bella...love that name!!
Good Luck

Sorry but no, when you surrendered your dog you relinquished all ownership. Your dog has been someone else's dog for the last year, and since you longer own the dog it would be theft to take the dog back.

Your dog has been living with someone else for a whole year. Do you really think it's in the dog's best interest to be uprooted again and have to adjust to another new place?
It sounds harsh, I know, but think about it from the point of view of the animal- they like stability, and you can't explain things to them. She has adjusted, move on and let go.

Who did you surrender her to? If you surrended her to a shelter and she is another home, she belongs to someone else now.
