It depends. There are good religious leaders. The overwhelming majority of the founding fathers were evangelical Christians and most people think they did a pretty good job ruling the country in that era.

Truth is just that, truth. It is a thing. Like a bar to compare things too. The fact that there is a God, does not mean we don't need medicine or vehicles. The fact that there is a Heaven does not mean we don't need houses.
Truth is truth, nothing more.
