Supposedly, they're full of the Holy Spirit and talking to God.
In truth, they practice.
Therefore, they're actually full of something else.

I am Pentecostal and what you saw was the Holy Spirit moving. The Holy Spirit is like fire shut up in your bones and if you can place your hand in fire and not move then you have proven that its all fake. However I am sure that you have burned yourself before and if you touch something hot you move. The Holy Spirit will quicken your body. Read Romans 8:11 (Quicken means to come alive). When God's power quickens your body there is no way that you stand still. Some people cry, some run, some shout, but you will see something happen. And if it scared you, remember God has not given us the spirit of fear, so that fear came from another source. Read Jeremiah 20:9, 2 Timothy 1:7, Psalm 71:20, 119:25. 1 Peter 3:18

It originally happens by the laying on of hands and one requests God for this gift.
I don't know what you experienced exactly. But my guess is that the Holy Spirit fell in a strong way. One of the signs of being filled with the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues. Or God given prayer language.
The reason this gift is poured out strong sometimes is for clarity. It Is God, to the person receiving the gift. It has also been tested, and it is not the persons brain that is causing it to happen, but the power of the Holy Spirit.
If this is done before a new person (like yourself), it is for a sign. That something more than just people is doing something.
Me, I never actually rolled around speaking in tongues. Nor have I seen it, exactly. I did see people fall under the anointing. But it depends on what is going on. But when God gave me victory over a breakdown, I went forward at church, and the Pastor told me to be ready for the anointing, and with the laying on of hand on, I praised God in tongues. Also new for me was my hands went straight up. Throughout the Psalms, one of the ways to praise God is with hands raised up. The prayer language is praising God from our spirit man, by the Grace of the Holy Spirit.

In the Bible it says they are speaking to God through the Holy Spirit. They are praying with their spirit prayers that their mind does not understand. I don't know about rolling on the floor I was not there. Speaking in tongues in the Bible is for your spirit to pray and there is a different kind of tongues that would be to speak in a human language that you do not understand but that a person who speaks say Swahili could understand.
Not all people who believe in tongues think that God likes them better or doesn't like people who don't. That is just not true.

According to them, it means that they are full of the Holy Spirit. They think if you act this way, then it is a sign that God likes you; conversely, they also think that if you do NOT do not act this way, then it means that God does not like you, and you are not a good Christian.
According to people who have studied the subject (including other Christians), tongue speakers are nothing more than people who are susceptible to suggestion who are self-hypnotized.

I was raised in a church like this. For the first 18 years of my life, I sat in the back (my parents forced me to go) and watched these loons and their "speaking in tounges" (and other insane rituals). They believe that the Holy Spirit is flowing through them, and speaking through them. But really, they're all just making it up, even if they don't realize it.
I noticed over the years that each person had their own little "language" and that for most people their "speech" consisted of nothing more than the same one or two lines of gibberish repeated over and over. Each person usually said the same thing week after week. I believe that this is because it is entirely made up, a product of the human mind, brought on by wanting it to happen because they see it happening to everyone else. They may not realize that they are making it up, but when you've been around it a lot, it's obvious that they are.
If it were really the "holy spirit" speaking through someone, you'd think it would say something more than the same couple lines over and over every week. You'd think the "holy spirit" would say something useful, something divine, rather than non-sensical gibberish.
You'd think if God were real, he wouldn't hide himself completely and then send us to Hell for all eternity for not seeing him, especially a god that is supposed to be "all-loving".

It's really very simple to understand. They are demonically possessed. Always remember that with God there is no confusion.
You had better get out of that church of Satan fast and not look back.><>
