I know this is a free country, but I'm tired of you believers who take faith before fact. People aren't just making evolution up. And yes, I was a christian before. But I "evolved" out of it. Anyway, to answer your question, I think it will be possible. Maybe not with humans, but a species on this very planet, in our next door galaxies, maybe even universes away, and trillions of years in the future, tomorrow, or 60,000 years ago. It could happen anytime and anywhere. However, just about humans, I doubt it. Tragedy and prejudism for a human is like blood to a vampire. We'll die out before we accept eachother for who we are. It would take a world crisis, a disaster so unimaginably terrible that it would wipe out most life on earth, to bring us together, and that wouldnt last forever.

We have sustained religions of various forms for thousands of years, and they are going strong with over half the worlds population today. A remarkable amount of continuity can be noted from religious research, such as the similarities of births of religious leaders. Horus, Moses, Romulus+Remus, and some others that I am forgetting, were all abandoned at birth to be put into baskets floating down a river, for example. (I am almost positive- it's been a while since I researched that. Do a little investigation yourself, if you want.) Whether a similar event at a river ever occured or not in unclear, but such events such as the river myth and resurrection seem to be common throughout almost all humans and all cultures, leading me to believe that many religious beliefs are from an unconscious archetype, as Carl Jung would have said. If such thoughts are buried in the unconscious, then perhaps religion is here to stay.

I read an interesting article on superstition ("Do you Believe In Magic"- NY Times) that suggested that superstitious beliefs actually had evolutionary values at one point, based on the properties of soothing fears, warding off mental distress, and its nature of being formed by correlating positive actions with positive outcomes.

Neurosis is a mental problem. It is chiefly caused by excess superstition, which I have already that is here to stay. It is possible that medication in the future will help the condition, since knowledge of the brain functions have increased over time.

Long time ago humans used to be scared of fire but today we understand it and try to use it in our favor.
They used to kill women in the medieval age with the pretest they were witches.
There are people today who strongly believe in one thing and one thing only and they don't give themselves an alternative option.
If we look at ourselves with the eyes of the past and the present we will never grow into the future.
One day....

We sure will..........when Jesus Christ returns all of His saints that are dead will be resurrected and those still alive whose physical bodies will be changed (born again) into new spirit being bodies and will be caught up in the clouds to gathered by God's Angels from the 4 winds of heaven (all around the earth) where they will be taken to Jerusalem and together they will watch Jesus destroy His enemy the Antichrist and his massive armies who would dare to wage war against Him. Then people of the earth will be judged.........This is were you come in......and by the sound of it..........I don't think you're going to make it.

Sure, they do it all the Time.
It is called getting Saved.
Becomning a Child of GOD.
Getting your Spirit Recreated.
Born-Again!
This action takes Place in your Spirit.
Now, the Trouble comes in when you go to RENEW the Soul (second mind).
Thats where alot of Children of GOD fail a lot, or don't do it at all.
Thats why alot of Children of GOD are superstitious, Religious and have neuroses.
See?
Ditto.............................
