I've been a member here for about 6 months.
During that time I have taken part in some interesting discussions, had a laugh, and been able to help with a few problems.
Just recently the balance of the forum has changed, it seems to me.
People are castigated for treating serious subjects seriously, for having some understanding of grammar and for being able to spell.
The points system has come to mean answering everything, no matter how, if you'll forgive the pun, pointlessly, just to get points. This means that genuine answers become swamped and can be lost.
Inter-faith bickering aside it has always seemed wrong to me when genuinely spiritual people are mocked - and that's getting worse. To the degree that now an attack has been posted on spiritual seekers in general. (Which seems sad because the genuinely spiritual of ALL faiths get along together just fine).
So now I ask, is it time for me to go?
Hmmm.
Yes, it's time for me to go!
But let's end with a question mark. ?

Go take a nice hot shower and ponder things on your own for awhile.
A ? is perfect temporary end. Take a break, but don't go. You can learn a lot here. I have. You can ignore a lot too. I do. perhaps 1:10 or a 1:20 ratio of good thinking questions and answers, and I'm sure these repeat after you have been here awhile thus reducing the ratio of useful questions to you.
Come back later and ask your own new questions they are most useful to you.
PS Sorry about my spelling i general, I'm an engineer, and mother of 3 boys. I want to get my point across quickly, I've much to do and read that leads to numerous errors. (I hate the slow spell check provided with its often odd substitution word choices)

Is there a better alternative? Or are you just hoping for a filter? Any time a bad person can do something to hurt some one else with out punishment, they will. They're mindless drones like that.
The beautiful thing about YA is that you can choose not to read such things and move on. Yes, some digging my be required, but if it's truly an answer you're looking for, then it'll be worth the effort.

I've been here on and off for a couple of months. I understand where your coming from. I've started to learn to weed through the garbage and still believe I have some things to share and to learn. Stick around for a while, never know what might happen. At least that's been my attitude after I found out that I couldn't buy groceries with Y!A points...lol

Hi Jon C ,,, I,m sure you won,t quit because there are without Doubt many more aspects to enjoy using Q & A , than any Irritations that you may feel ??? lets face it , the word "Addictive" springs to Mind ???? Especially when you receive a "Violation" notice after asking or answering a Question when "No Offence" is Intended ???? Good Luck to you ......

I know how you feel. I said good bye a while ago and now I'm back. This is really the garbage section of Yahoo Answers but I feel compelled to hang around a little longer in hopes of pulling a few more out of the trash. I hope you reconsider...there is power in numbers.
