st. johns wart is not good , you need a prescription from a doctor, it's nothing to be ashamed of, everyone takes antidepressants anyway, when you feel like killing yourself you need to seek someone out, tell a friend or just call a friend to talk, distract yourself, don't be alone cuz your thoughts will get to you, go somewhere, do something and def see a doctor if you can, and get off the st johns it could make matters worse, you never know

Go out and have a drink with someone or with yourself. Before you do that, tell yourself that you will enjoy the next hour of your life. Let loose, have fun, because trouble don't last always. Also know and understand that there could be something wrong medically. Try to get some anti-depressants. Celexa is good and so is Prozac. You just gotta take them everyday. I've been on Celexa for 2 years and I'm a totally different person. Me and hubby almost never argue and if we do its like I can look at him and laugh. Nothing bothers me. It won't allow the trial and tribulations of every day life to get to me. I have no side effects or any thing. I admit the first month on it was rough but I promise it was well worth it. Perk Up and love yourself, and think about what I said you can even get a script for them from free mental service facilities. TROUBLE DON"T LAST ALWAYS

For tonight, instead of sleeping pills and vodka, try toast or a sandwich and some warm milk. Then take a shower and go to bed.
In the morning, take a walk and call your doctor.
Winston Churchill said, "When you're going through hell, keep going", so don't give up now.
Depression is better understood and better treated than it ever has been before. There's a way through it, I promise.
I do want to point out that depression (as differentiated from "the blues" that we all get from time to time) is an illness. You'd seek medical attention for a five month long headache or diabetes or a broken bone....right?

I tried St.John's wort 2-3 days and cried the whole time. Apparently it's not working for you, either. Don't make the mistake of trying a permanent solution for a temporary situation. Even the Bible says, "This, too, shall pass."
Go find someone to help, like volunteer at a hospital or nursing home, and get your mind on something constructive. You'll feel better, and being out among other people will do them some good, also.

Zoloft works great for depression. Get some Zoloft. St. John's Wort mainly reduces stress and anxiety. Although, anxiety and stress can trigger a deep depression, St. John's Wort doesn't really pull you out of a depressed state of mind. You need Zoloft.

You know i have been depressed for a year.
In the end i realized, why leave this world when i didn't even live the way i wanted to. I learned that i cant leave a world where i havent even started trying to live my best.
I have friends and family and i learned that there are a lot of things that i have fun with. Being depressed is admitting defeat.
I bet you don't like being beat up, espeacially by yourself.
I suggest you write all the things that are depressing and record your voice.
and throw that in the big trash.
and scream it away on a roller coaster.

You can't just shake it off. But you can feel better if you see a doctor. Tell him how you are feeling. He will probably put you on anti-depressants (they work great for me). I don't like being on them for too long, so I try to work out what is making me unhappy in my life, and then take steps to make it better. Counselling can really help a lot with this. You are worth the effort, and you do deserve a happy life. Don't try a permanent solution for a temporary problem. Best wishes.

Just dont give in, there are better things just around the corner.
If that corner isn't real close yet sometimes it helps to help other people, volunteer and as an aid for children with cancer, or at an elderly center, etc. Or just be the best friend you can be to the people around you, even if you dont feel any better you will at least be doing something useful until your do!!!!

It will pass,I have been depressed for a long time and I take lexapro and it helps alot.I have a long list of things that would depress anyone but I have more to live for than to die for.Death is for eternity and your problems are but temporary.Put on your big girl panties and see the doctor and get some meds.No shame in seeing a counselor or therapist either.Good Luck!!God Bless!!

Death is one way of ending depression. St. John's wort has received mixed reviews. You obviously don't want to kill yourself or you wouldn't be discussing it with a bunch of random strangers that profess to have the answers. Religion, friends and family only go so far. They all can sometimes provide comfort in times of need. You have to want to live in order to make changes. Find something that makes you happy and go with it. Everybody thinks about canceling themselves, its normal.
