If we (US) pulled out, it seems that the killing would continue and most likely escalate and for what? Are the Iraqis ever going to stand up or are they so uncivilized and beat down that they need to be controlled by a Sadam replacement and until that happens the senseless killing will continue? This is a question.

They are killing everyone who gets in the way of one sect annihilating the others so they can take control of the region. To say we would do the same thing is such an ignorant statement it's not worthy of a response.
If you really think we’re there for the oil then enjoy your silly notion by yourself. So the president is just out to get all the oil he can for what. Does he get rich from this? How does that thinking work, I really don’t get how you think that’s the motivation here? WOW.

change 1000 years of cultural and religious history unfortunately.
It would take years and a well a lot of force to calm the situation to an acceptable level, to have established a stable government and to introduce the idea that different people can live together in peace.
but things like that cant run on time tables and schedules.
so unless allowed to use the time needed, the situation will never improve and we are looking at another post US/Vietnam situation (i.e. millions killed)

i don't comprehend if we incredibly need to enhance the style of yankee troops. the challenge is that it is grow to be a politicized war (I won't point out any names), however the end result that this has had is our troops are waging war with one hand tied at the back of their backs. they'd desire to have the skill to flow in and kill, capture and harm up the enemy, despite if or no longer they be community or from outdoors the borders. i don't comprehend if that's even attainable now. the final answer for now may well be for the Iraqi militia to step up and do the interest amazing, with our back up help. which could deliver a lot of advantageous indicators to the folk of Iraq and al Quaida.

If someone stopped ALL the press and turned ALL the TV and cable network cameras OFF for about a week, great progress would be made in Iraq, and probably most of the world.
This is a good answer.

Very interesting question.
If you think about it, European settlers had the same problem, only WORSE, with native Americans when they first came over. When they first arrived they tried to teach them civility and government. The problem was that too few of them accepted it. Many bloody years passed, but in the end, as sad as it may seem to some, the only solution was to push out and/or exterminate the entire race.
I think that is what will eventually have to happen if the West is to succeed.

One that makes little sense! We are in the middle of a religious civil war over who takes control of Iraq! That is up to Iraq, not to us. They already have an elected government! We aren't occupiers, nor should we dictate to them who should control their government. Some Democracy, huh??
Sure didn't stop us from abandoning the South Vietnamese who were murdered by the millions! What was your position on that one?
The "senseless killing has been going on for over 4 years! What has changed? Someone is going to take over their government, which police and military are as corrupt as they come!
What would you like us do, put in another Saddam Hussein like we already did, or a Shaw of Iraq? Like we put in the Shaw of Iran!
Our record is pretty damn poor! We should quit trying to take over countries for oil companies which directly benefits George W. Bush and his cronies!

several things would stop iraqi's from killing each other. one would be to take all their weapons and replace them with ping pong balls. another would be thta muhammed came back for a visit and told them how stupid they are and get them to stop. since those are unlikely, one "side" (sunni/shiite/whatever) would have to win a civil war, which woulod be very messy and unpleasant for everyone. barring that, all the radical leaders of the muslim faith who encourage and preach the destruction of those of other religeons would have to be removed and the education of the peacful side of the Muslim faith would have to be spread (unfortunately i have no idea how to do this without causing chaos and stuff)

Uhh they are killing each other now . So if we stay there must be something other than their humanity which we care about . Could it be the O-I-L.
