I have lived in Ontario all of my life. We have municipalities or regions. Examples are Durham Region, York Region, Halton-Peel Region, ect.

Since you're asking the question, you probably already realize that Sunshine's answer is incorrect. One thing to keep in mind is that counties are found in Southern Ontario and they are called Districts in Northern Ontario. That being said, there are 44 Counties in Southern Ontario.
