I've seen this a while back. Poor woman. She was raped twice that day - once by a man and secondly by the system.
She should sue.

That's what happens when you have a outstanding warrant, you get thrown in jail. What gives her the right to force her beliefs on the jailer? She deserved to go to jail because of the warrant and the jailer has their rights to their own beliefs, but it didn't have anything to do with the jailers beliefs anyway, jailers are not allowed to give anyone any kind of medication without a order to do so. Just because she was raped doesn't give her some special right to be above the law.

As far as I know, only a doctor is allowed to refuse to prescribe a woman the morning after pill, provided s/he refers her to someone who will prescribe it to her. Yes, it is unethical and unlawful to refuse to administer someone medication because of one's religious beliefs. Unless the jailer is a doctor, they're in serious trouble, because it wasn't the jailer's decision to make. Jailers do this to people because they feel they can intimidate the accused, whether they're innocent or guilty. Because who are you gonna go to if you're done wrong by the police? The police? No. You should be able to go to a lawyer, but realistically, the accused often cannot afford a decent enough lawyer that will give him or her justice. But since this has already leaked out to the media, I'm sure she'll be able to get an outstanding lawyer. Any idiot can see she was wronged.

That's insane and it makes me sick. I am tired of hearing about how atheists should NOT bash Christians, yet their beliefs are forced down our throats in such awful ways. I knew a pharmacist who would LIE on the phone and say they were "out" of "Plan B" (morning after pill), even after a hospital called and inquired for a rape victim. People cry about the rights of a child that might not even exist, yet will deny the rights of a rape victim! What kind of world is this?
BTW..the morning after pill induces a period and prevents an egg from implanting, so there is a good chance that a "fetus" (really just a fertilized cell) might not even be present.

I am sure that poor woman has a legal recourse against the police for gross abuse. I cannot believe the police procedure dictates abusing rape victims as you say.
In my country the police would be dragged over live hot coals if they behaved as you report.

Probably she'll sue...and win. Because that's the kind of society we live in. And then she'll have an abortion. So to her, no harm, no foul. I'm against the morning after pill, abortion and rape. But it's not my Karma.

I don't even know what to say to this. I'm trying very hard not to say something truly nasty right now. The people that did this should have their balls cut off.
They had no right to treat this poor women this way. NONE.
This is outrageous. Its just sickening.

The decision should have been hers, but I am 100% AGAINST abortion. It's murder!
I would only pray she would have changed her mind.
I hope they caught the scum that raped her!
