I think it's really easy. Just try to have some Social groups or maybe you can try to visit your neighbour. you cannot say that you depressed just because your job is just cleaning house and take care of your son. I think Many Mother want like you but can't maybe because they still need to find some earnings for her child to eat. You are lucky not in that condition. So just try to Relax and see the positive. Doing something boring at home but at least you are always together with your child. Your beloved child. try imagine 17 month old son been take care by babysitter you don't really know. Do u trust her to really keep your son safe.. Just think positive of your situation, and you will lose your depression. Have a nice Family.

Wall-climbing,
swimming laps,
lifting weights,
running,
bowling,
offer to be a sparring partner at the local boxing gym.
In my neighborhood right now, you could be shoveling your elderly neighbors out of the snow that's been piling up the last few days! Keeps you busy and it helps someone else in the process.

Take up mountain biking or hiking, volunteer at a dog pound or puppy shelter (they let you play with them & help take care of them). If you're willing to spend some money, get a membership at a local indoor rockclimbing facility or a healthclub. Join a sport or get another job (unless you don't have one, then get one!). Confronting relationship issues a.s.a.p. is much easier than trying to deal with them after you've let them fester & grow. Just my opinion.

One of the best things to do is volenteer for something in the community. Helping others eventually helps yourself.
Help make food at a soup kitchen. Volenteer at the local hospital. etc

I recommend maybe doing something that makes you feel better as a person.
For example, the big brother program. Where you hang out with a little kid and act like his big brother, to keep him company. They are usually foster kids.
It makes you feel good as a person, takes your mind off of yourself, and also looks good for the ladies!

I've suffered depression myself, get vitamin D, it helps, part of it may be related to the fact its winter and you may suffer from SAD (seasonally affected depression).
My suggestion that's always helped me with depression, is go out with friends and get active, go to the gym, play sports (my sport of choice is hockey)
Good luck hun, things will get better

Cheaper sports would do it if you are into it. Snowboarding, bowling, tennis...They are not too expensive, I don't think.
Or you could try playing video games, computer games...You could read, free books are at library and you...
Many things you can do. Good luck!
