Our daughter just had a 3 stitch incision on her face, can anyone recommend a scar cream that is safe and effective for a child? As of today the doctors just want us to use neosporen but i dont want her to have a scar.

Hi there. I'm sorry your daughter has an injury to her face. I'm a cancer survivor and had a horrible nasty scar. I asked about the same thing. My doctor told me to use pure vitamin E oil, not cream but oil on the scar 4 times a day for as long as I needed to before it faded. It did work. You can get vitamin E oil at most any drug store or even grocery stores, make sure it's pure E no additives though. It's totally safe for kids too, and natural which makes it great. I got a bottle for $4.00 at Wegman's supermarket, I bet Walmart is cheaper though.

Mederma is a good cream to use after the incision heals, but for a kick-butt cream, La Mer is uber-pricey, but one jar lasts years (depending on the klutz factor of your child.) It is currently a very expensive facial cream, but it was originally created by a NASA scientist quickly heal cuts and burns the engineers suffered from at the Center. Of course, his wife put it on her face and... the rest is history. I use this on my children. Extremely minimal scarring!

Sea buckthorn oil, it has largely been ignored in the western world as a medicinal prospect until very recently. I've used it myself and cannot recommend it enough.

I buy it from here http://www.rosacea-remedy.com
The website sells it as a home cure for rosacea but if you read all the info and references, you'll soon find that it should be in everyone's first aid cabinet. Get the intensive remedy. It's the strongest source of sea buckthorn oil i've been able to find on the web, and the local shops, for the price they charge.
