I am a tattoo artist. The artist that told you about the ink lifting and all that probably isn't the guy to go to. I feel he may have had problems with it before because of poor technique, or isn't confident in his abilities. spend a little extra and go to someone that has done feet before and is comfortable with it. a tattoo that is put in correctly will stay. The problem with feet is that a tattoo opens up your body to infection, thousands of tiny holes in your skin require extra care. The foot is a breeding ground for bacteria ( dirty shoes, fungi, and sweat) go with a reputable artist, keep it clean, and enjoy.

I have a foot tattoo and I love it!
I've had it over a year and it still looks good, and I DIDN'T have to go barefeet for two weeks! I acutally went to work two hours later, where I might add, I have to wear shoes, and nothing happened to my tattoo.
It will hurt, I wont lie. I have three tattoos in total and the foot hurt the most.
But totally worth it!

I just got two feet tattoos one each foot half an hour each. I was VERY scared so I took a friend and it didn't hurt at all. I was laughing and joking the whole time. It was prolly one of my least painful tattoo's but you can't wear shoes for a few days which sucks cause its raining here lol Message me with any other questions!

Foot tattoos hurt quite alot more than some other places, because there is less meat there. Also, foot tattoos fade quicker, and after you get it done you should wear sandals until it is healed totally.

Not to scare you off though! I love my foot tattoo....the pain was worth it!

ok tattoo artist with feet tattoos. cons: they hurt. no doubt about it. more so than other spots and i have alot. (lost count) they are a ***** to get to heal properly. you know shoes, socks, anything rubbing it will mess it up bad and you don't wanna go through a touch-up. THEY ALWAYS NEED A TOUCHUP!!! feet and hands fade so bad so fast. the skin is constantly being rubbed off so they go quik.
pros: its a tattoo on your foot. it ain't gonna make you coffee or fetch the mail.

Ok, I'll be honest, I don't have one. But I have asked similar questions on here, and spoken to a tattoo artist about it. The answer I got from him as he wouldn't ever tattoo his feet because the skin is really thin and won't really hold the ink well. He said he'd never seen one over a year old that looked any good, it was basically a waste of time. Also you can't wear shoes fr 2 weeks after you get it done. He wouldn't do it for me down near the toes (where I was interested in putting one), and was skeptical about putting one up near the ankle. I got one on my thigh instead. Good luck with what you choose.

i heard that you shouldnt get tattoo's on your feet or hands because the skin - i dont know how to say it but in a way it kinda keeps ..growing.. so the tattoo will turn out ugly in a couple years

I have two tattoos on my foot! IT HURTS!!! im not going to lie to you it does hurt!! My bigger one was my first tattoo ever, I LOVE IT worth the pain. Tattoos on your foot are rare( or at least used to be) One thing you should know is you can't or i should say shouldnt wear shoes and socks for at least two days after the tatto so you don't cause to much ink to lift. Ink will lift no matter what, its supposed to, but the sock will suck out more that normal. Plus your foot will be soar for a while. Other than that GO FOR IT!! After you get it done, DO NOT PICk at it while its healing and make sure you use sun screen when you in the sun or tan!! Oh to add to mine answer to contradict the one above me, the ink stays just fine, ive hade mine for four years and it hasn't faded any more or less then the ones on my back!

I have a dragon on my foot and I love it. I have had it for 5 years and it still looks good. Just make sure to wear sandals while it heals. It will hurt but not that bad. Good Luck!
