How many times should you a razorblade before discarding it?

I generally use my Schick Slim Twin disposables 4-5 times before using a new one. Is this too much or too little. What about a higher quality blade, like a Schick Quatro? Can that be used more times than a disposable?

Got to keep with good men's hygiene!

That, seriously, is a great question!!!

If what you are using now gets the job done fine, and you aren't spending a ton of money, then stick with it! Unless you know that the blade gets really dull after 4-5 times, I might try to extend that a little bit. Research and calculate how much it would cost to keep doing this or to buy a better blade & how much you'd spend on that.

Ya know, I've tried using disposables before...honestly I found I got a better shave from my mach 3. Just break down and get a real razor. It's a better quality shave and you can use the blade more than 3-5 times.

It's different for each person. Use it until you think the blade is getting dull. If you use a dull razor you risk cuts easier. I generally toss mine after a week, but I shave everyday. Also, don't keep it in the shower where the humidity and water can dull it. Keep it in a dry place when not in use.

You should only use the same blade 4-5 times, just like your doing. Any more and you risk razor burn, or getting nicks easier.

it depends on individual skin but i tink hygienically,two times is enough to dispose .

If you picture your razorblade under a pyramid it can last for six months or more.
