Never assume that the question is about the questioner. Thank you for your answers. I find the sexual abuse part very interesting. The person of interest had frightmares as a very young child and walked and talked in his sleep and was a bed wetter until put on a med that stopped it right away. Remember when you answer these questions be serious and careful you don't push too hard please you could cost someone their life.

tell you what fantasies of murder and torture are not common symptoms these sound like sadistic or even sociopathic tendencies if you are suffering these get thy self to a psychiatrist other wise get the person who is like this to see some body quickly!!!

I would say that those are symptoms of having been abused as a child. So I would say that is post-traumatic stress disorder. Or how about, you got mistreated so you are warped? If you have any inclinations to ACT on these fantasies, you have a moral obligation to get help for it. If it is "just" disturbing you, then counseling will help.

I get that problem too, and i was sexually abused for many years. I would never, ever hurt anyone, and in fact, am horrified if I see any cruelty in person or on TV that is real. It is very disturbing. Sexual abuse books will talk about it, you will have to do your own research. Lots of times, borderline personality disorder comes from abuse. Bipolar has some similar symptoms with borderline, but they are not the same thing. In my case, I did get bipolar, but I probalby would have gotten it anyway, just not so bad.

Good luck for you! I hope you can benefit from counseling.

PS I assumed these fantasies were something you DID NOT want to have. If you are actually enjoying these fantasies, and look forwards to them, then that is really a problem, and you will have to ask for help or maybe it will escalate and you will do something bad. A lot of serial killers started out that way!

no, Bipolar disorder is ups and downs and you are basically a roller coaster. If you have it you need to be on the meds because you can really want to kill your self sometimes and things its bad.

as far as the murder yes it isnt normal at all . You are sufforing from some kind of control you have another illness its not related to bipolar at all.
The torture part... well, there just fantisies and if you really want to do it get help if you dont and you want to pretend then you are ok

In my experience, no! But each individual is different and can be affected differently by both the disorder and/or the medications. Many people have such thoughts and/or fantasies while they have no "mental disorder". If you feel a desire or a need to act on those fantasies or if they interfere with your daily life then it is time to seek professional help in dealing with them. If they are just a benign thoughts then seeking help is up to you.

I live with bipolar disorder along with other health issues.

If you're on meds, just to be on the safe side

google:

[name of med] side effects aggression

[name of med] side effects violence

If you're on more than one med, do the same for each one.
Aggression is listed as a side effect of several meds and if it is that then you need to explain to your doc whats happening as it would mean that whatever one that does it is having a bad effect which needs monitoring.

Other than that, no idea how common it is.

NEITHER.

borderlines dont have fantasies of murder or torture, its an impulse, and they feel bad about it afterwards anyways.

bipolar disorder is mood change from high to low and doesnt involve that either.

for anyone to do something stupid enough to make someone
want to kill them!"
