Girl that I thought was interested was not...did I miss something here??

Question

Well I didn't call her on the phone and I played it cool and I asked couple of days ago when we got out of class "are we still on for lunch"(on monday) she said "yeah, just give me a call". I didn't call her but I did talk to her for a bit in IM. The next time I saw her I ask her "so what are you doing on friday(asked her on wednesday) she said "oh, im going to lunch with my uncle" and says how she doesn't really want to do it and stuff then she said "just im me on aim and well talk about going to lunch". at that point I just didn't want to try anymore, this girl obviously doesnt like me enough for us to go grab lunch. She just keeps making excuses here and there.

My friend suggested that just stop trying to chase and and just tell her that she should call me when she wants to have lunch since obviously asking her for lunch isn't working.

Is she playing extremely hard to get or does she plain don't like me?

Am I missing something ? You have actually asked her to lunch twice. Once, she accepted but remembered a prior commitment ( and appologized ) so couldnt go....the next time you asked she already had plans ( with a family member...which takes priority ) It doesnt seem to me that you have really made that much of an effort ! How many times does she have to say " call me " so you can set a date/time....but you play it " cool " and dont call.......she is probably complaining to her friends right now that you keep promising to call, but never do. Just a hint....try picking a date that isnt in the current week...most woman have already made plans that late in the game.

Dude, like you said, you did not call her. Please call her and go out, at least once. Maybe you are missing something here. Moreover, if you don't like her, just stop attempting. It is up to you. In my opinion most girls will straight out tell you no, if they don't want to go out with you.
