Is the trick to NOT having the victim found to dig a deeper hole?
I've never ever heard a news report that says a body was discovered in a deep grave. But i have heard hundreds of stories say the body was found in a shallow grave.
Why are murderers so lazy anyway?? I'd spend a little extra time and effort to dig a nice big hole.

Sure you may be in a hurry immediately following the crime, but why not dig the hole before killing the victim, then it would simply be a case of filling in the hole with loose soil.
Do these murderers not think ahead?? sheesh..

I know, right?!
Seems to me like the least these guys could do, if they want to bury the body as opposed to other forms of disposal, would be to cut the body into several pieces, then bury the pieces using a post hole digger. Shallow graves are normally discovered because either the body is uncovered (by weather or animals), or the upturned earth draws attention. A post hole digger will still dig what's considered a shallow grave at 4-5 feet, but it's much more difficult to uncover, as the volume of dirt displaced is minimal. Even if someone notices the soil has been disturbed, it doesn't resemble a human grave in any way.

Obviously you haven't watched any of the crime shows on TV. The cops are always RIGHT BEHIND the criminals so they never have enough time to properly dig. Jeesh, give the guys some credit for at least getting a shallow grave dug.
Also, way to go giving the criminals ideas. Now the victim discovery rate will go down. The potential murderers out there will read this and think, "hmmm he has a good point" and start digging deeper graves. I hope you can sleep tonight.

an important thing to know is that hauling a 200 pound human carcass is alot of hard work. Digging a 6 foot deep hole takes hours and increases the time the murder has of being discovered.

Because it takes time and a lot of hard work to dig a deeper grave. This is just common sense.

No, if it is a spur of the moment thing then they would not have the time to dig a hole.
Have you ever thought the maybe the killer wanted to be found? Some people like that kind of notoriety. (Pretty sick ones)

Well, I think the object is to get rid of the body as quick as possible and distance yourself just as quickly. Personally, I wouldn't want to be caught digging away when somebody pulls up in a car.

Well if you wanted to get rid of a body and you were nervous would you want to dig for a couple hours with the possibility of getting caught?

The ones in deep graves are never found.
Italians use cement.
If you freeze the body and then leave it to be found somewhere, it will give it a wrong time of death and you can be setting at your favorite restaurant.
