Well, American Idiot *is* a good album, but there is a point that with pop culture anything it's best if it's something that ages well. That's only 2004 it came out iirc. Green day isn't a one-hit wonder, and a wrist tat can be small, so it's hardly an auto-no. Drawn into a small piece where it isn't dominating could work.
There isn't a lot of album art I'd want as a tat, tho. Some old Yes album covers or the Dark Side of the Moon prism for classic stuff, but there were a number of albums each of those bands had where the art sucked.
Although it's a lot bigger, I like the cover art for Dookie better. Er, except for the prohibition of no crap-flinging monkeys...

You have to really think about how you're going to feel about it years from now. You have to be damn sure before you get something like that done. It's like getting a girlfriends name tattooed, what happens when you break up?
The worst thing for a tattoo is some silly pop culture trend of the year. Once it's on there, it isn't coming off without some expensive laser removal surgery.

Wrists are meant for meaningful tattoos (you'll be looking at them everyday). What are you gonna tell your friends when your 40 or 50? "Oh, it was this band I really liked in high school."
What has Green Day done for you anyway? All they do is yell, and appeal to people who hate how America is run, but have no intention of changing it.

I have song lyrics around my wrists. Keep in mind there may be times you want to cover them, so don't make it so big you can't do that. I have to wear wrist bands to work everyday, for instance. As for it being a band tattoo, that's up to you, but I would think about it long and hard.

Go for what you want and not others opinions. And actually nowadays more and more employers are hiring people with tattoos. The dont want to discriminate people just because of their appearence and it is a known fact that people with body art are very artistic and employers want people that are creative. I know this because I read and watch the news 24/7.

Yes, I want a tattoo on my wrist as well. With a tattoo I think you should go more classic. In a couple of years what if you hate GreenDay?

Oh God.
I have a tattoo on my wrist, good sized one too, but it symbolizes my love for my children. Greenday? I mean, are you having their babies or something? I'd wait to see if they get inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame or something first, I mean, Greenday?

I have a wrist piece of hearts and butterflies. Whatever design you choose, make sure you like it and will like it for the rest of your life. I get alot of compliments on it, though it is not my favorite piece.
