I had an accident with an older women two days ago, and I have no insurance. She is going to get an estimate tommorow, becuase I told her I wanted to settle the costs myself becuase my insurance was high(but I lied I have none)

My question is, can I buy insurance tonight or early tommorow and lie about when the accident occured to allow her to make a claim?

Arent there time restrictions in place to prevent this kind of insurence fraud(5-10 days befor you can file a claim)

If I cant get insurance, what can she pursue legally against me? She didnt call the police about the accident and now its 2 days later.

The damege looked to be around 400$ worth, I do intend to cover the costs of repair myself, but cannot immidiatly do this, in the meantime, do I face jail time or suspension of my license?

Has anyone been through this? what should I do?

First off, buying insurance now and then filing a claim for a past accident is insurance fraud and you could be prosecuted. Be honest with the woman that you hit. Let her know that your insurance has lapsed and that you need to pay for the repairs out of pocket. Figure out a timely payment schedule or got to a payday advance company. She will probably work with you because it will take awhile for her to take you to court and she would have to pay for court fees upfront. Make all of your payments on time. If she does end up taking you to court you will be responsible for damages, court costs, and you will probably be ticketed for operating a vehicle without insurance.

Sorry, you can't buy insurance now to cover this accident. If you did so, it would be fraud. Your best bet is to pay the other woman for her damages. If the estimate seems high, ask her if she'll get two estimates, that way you can compare. I would add that expect the repair bill to be higher than you think.

Depending on your state, if the damage is over a certain amount (in CA it's 500 I think) you are both legally obligated to report the accident. Now if she gets paid right away she probably won't report it, but if she does report it, you're screwed. The DMV will contact you asking you to fill out a form--I'm not sure if you have to show proof of insurance. Maybe. You don't go to jail for lack of insurance but the fine is easily in the hundreds. It depends again on the state or county you live in.

ha.. ok.. and how do you plan to fool the insurance company? Are you going to have the little old lady lie to them about when it happened? PLEASE.. they will see right through your lies.

You have learned a very expensive lesson for your stupidity.. you owe her the complete cost of repairs PLUS rental and any medical expenses- no way to get around it.

If you dont pay her in a timely matter and she goes through her insurance.. they will come after you with the bill. If you dont pay them.. they will suspend your license and garnish your wages and you will deal with this for years to come.

You made your bed.. now lay in it.

Any claims against your brother are against him and not your insurer. in the journey that your brother has agreed to allow the insurer to act on his behalf then they do no longer look to be doing a good pastime for him! If the circumstances against him circulate to court docket the MIB uninsured drivers contract does not kick in because of the fact the motor vehicle did have coverage - your insurer might might desire to pay the claims if judgments have been created and remained unpaid. i won't comprehend why the insurer might say it is not of their pastime to guard the claims - in the event that they stump up £60000 they'll comprehend they might have concern convalescing it out of your brother. it may be greater value-effective to purchase coverage. Your brother ought to stand up for himself somewhat than letting the insurer do it. because of the fact the Defence will contain allegations of fraud by way of "ghost" passengers the legal case may be complicated and costly so brother desires a legal expert.
