Mederma has been proven to reduce scarring, but it does take up to 4 weeks. In severe cases, it would be best to see a dermatologist. Mederma works alot better than Vitamin E. Another possibility, it cocoa butter. It can also reduce scars appearance, but since the scars have been there awhile, Mederma is a better over-the-counter remedy. Another thing is the store brand generics (like the Rite Aid or CVS) scar therapies that are supposed to be like Mederma are NOT like Mederma, they have different active ingredients.

Vitamin E oil or cream can be applied to the skin in the affected areas, every day .The cream should be applied overnight. Aloe Vera gel and fresh lemon juice can be applied to the scars, so that they fade quickly. You can find more cheap and natural remedies for stretch marks or scars at the link below.

depending on how deep they are and how old they are, you might try vitamin E capsules (with the liquid inside). You cut open the capsule and spread it on the scars.

I also saw something in the drugstore that was supposed to reduce scars, but I'm sorry I can't remember the name of it. It was in the part of the drugstore with the skincare products... you might want to ask your pharmacist, it was definitely an OTC product, and I've seen a few commercials on TV for this product.

I use Vitamin E. Just stick it with a pin and squeeze it out on the scars and rub it in. Do it every day and it will make them fade.

I know there are some over the counter products that are supposed to help-ask a pharmacist to help you find them. I also think rubbing vitamin E oil on them is supposed to help. Good luck!

You can try Mederma (at your local pharmacy counter) or Strivectin (expensive) or you can get other creams from your dermatologist.
