There are many differences. Christian is a follower of Christ, while Catholics is the follower of catechism. Sorry also I don't mean to offend anyone but its it true that the Catholics is not purely base their doctrine in the bible. Like how the way should women dress up"1Ti 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1Ti 2:10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. " The bible teaches a woman of God to be modest but as you see catholic do not practicing this. They believe in trinity which is not written in the bible. They also teaches to pray the rosary which also not written in the bible.

Many followed him. people then started to make many different religions that fit them. because it was getting so confusing there was the catholic church who was still following the origanal faith. so there fore all catholics are cristians, so are methodists and lutherens. but catholics believe that out faith is the truth.
